Kennedy's 1st Christmas and 2 Week Check Up

Yesterday was Kennedy's first doctors appointment, and we are super proud of our little angel! Only 1 poopy diaper, 1 pee on the doc. and 1 screaming hold my breath till I turn red(when she got her heal prick). She's weighting in at 7 lbs. 4oz. and 21 inches. She's in the 75th percentile in height, 25% weight, and 50% head. Daddy says she's tall and thin just like him!!

Our first family Christmas was filled with excitement! Kennedy got to meet her Mimi and Papa (her Great Grandparents), and her Great Aunt Debbie and Great Uncle Lynn. She was quite the trooper while everyone passed her around for loves, kisses, and photos. Of course, Santa and Grandparents spoiled her rotten with gifts. We're pretty sure she has a different outfit(her favorite being the Juicy Couture onesies from her Uncle Kyle) for every day till she's at least two.

Special Thanks

Mark and I want to send out a huge thank you to all of our friends, and family who have taken time out of their lives to offer us much needed support during this special time. We love each and everyone of you tremendously and are very blessed to be surround by such wonderful people.

Kennedy Marie Elliott

FINALLY!!! Kennedy arrived Dec. 11th at 8:50 in the morning. She is 6 lbs and 10 oz. and 19 1/4 inches tall. Everyone is healthy and we made it home a couple of days ago. We are adjusting to parenthood and life without any sleep. Our days are now consumed with dirty diapers, feedings, and the occasional nap. Hopefully we can get a more parent friendly schedule down soon.

Here are some pictures of our little girl and our new family!!

Special Delivery

Today we had our week 42 visit, and everything checked out. Sabrina has dilated 4 cm so far, and is contracting like crazy. We will be heading to the hospital at 6:30 AM for induction, but I'll bet we go early. The bags are loaded, the house is vacuumed, and Jazzmine has fresh water and food. Time for a short nap and its go time. Wish us luck!!!

Now that I'm realllly big and it is gorgeous outside, Jody and I are planning on taking a few outdoors(assuming she doesn't come before we find the time). 11-12-07 Week 37

I know, I know we've been HORRIBLE. We lost our home Internet connection(due to the fantastic Comcast service in the area)for almost six weeks. But now were back.....with a new Internet provider, new cable, and we even have a home phone now!!!!

So get ready Auntie Jody.....updates galore!!

For those of you who haven't heard, my doctor put me on strict bed rest last Monday:( It's taking me sometime to adjust. I really think it would be much easier to relax outside of my own house. Every time I get up to use the bathroom, I catch myself wanting to pick up, clean or just organize something/anything. Don't get me wrong, Mark is doing an incredible job. He even made an unbelievable pear pie last night, lattice work and all. I'm gonna keep him around a little longer;)

We had another doc. apt. this morning and everything is pretty much the same as last week. Strict bed rest(although my BP has gone done), gained 3 more pounds:( and no signs of dilation. We have 20 days until our official due date, so no worries....we are sure she will come when she is ready and not a day before!! She's giving us a taste of what to expect for the next 18 years!! We can handle it:)

Later this evening were gonna upload some new pictures(from the awesome new camera Uncle Kyle got us)and I will post them tonight or first thing tomorrow.

Hope everyone out there is doing great, and getting ready for the Holidays!!

She'll be mamas little "turkey"!

Hope everyone is doing great, have a wonderful weekend!

8-25-07 Week 26

Hello!! A quick update on Little Miss Kennedy, my diabetes screening came back just fine! I got my first belly measurement, which came back right on track! Everything seems to be cruising right along! I'm really starting to figure out Kennedy's schedule. Seems she likes to wake and play late night, and in the early morning hours. This pattern has just started making sleeping a bit more of a challenge. Now, I don't only wake to pee every hour, I also wake to little arms and legs kicking and punching me! Kennedy and her daddy have already created their own little game. If she is still daddy plays the drums on my belly and Kennedy responds with a side kick or right hook, this always makes daddy laugh!!

Well, now that we are in our 3rd and last trimester, we start visiting the doc every two weeks vs. once a month. So good news for all of you who want more updates.... they are on there way.

8-9-07 Week 24

ITS A GIRL!!! Kennedy Elliott!! We are still holding out on the middle name. That's right, we folded like a house of cards and peeked into the envelope. It's amazing how difficult it can be to prepare for a child without knowing the sex, especially for the grandparents and uncles. However, we held out until this last weekend, and in a moment of mutual weakness tore into the envelope like it was Christmas. We couldn't be happier, and are doing our best to spoil her already.

Everything went well on the genetic screening last visit, and she was doing flip-flops during the ultrasound. We are pretty sure that she doesn't like the noise from the machine at all, and that works out since we are not getting another until 32 weeks.

Next week we have the diabetes screening, and Sabrina is amped about drinking the koolaid. I'm sure everything will be fine, but it always makes us nervous to go in for these appointments.

Here are some pics from the last ultrasound, and a belly shot at 24 weeks.

7-11-07 Week 20

Lots of things have happened since our last post. We have started our birthing class learning about natural child birth. I am the "husband coach" and am pretty awesome at it. Sabrina is a little worried about how the medical staff will react to my whistle, but when she starts her yapping I send her out for a few laps.

This visit was the blood screen for genetic disorders. Lucky for our little one that I am genetically perfect, so we are not too worried. The results should be coming in soon. I am pretty sure that Sabrina's belly is almost even with mine, but the verdict is still out. The morning sickness has finally subsided and we are both thankful for that, but sometimes the headaches persist.

It seems that our baby will be a stellar athlete, because he/she is already practicing jumping, running, flipping, etc. I, however, have not been able to participate so far but we anticipate that happening soon.

Next week we go in for our next ultrasound, so pictures will be coming soon.

6-2-07 Week 14

One trimester down and two to go. The person who said that morning sickness will end at the start of the 2nd trimester must not have kids. Sabrina is nauseated most of the time, but only barfs when she brushes her teeth. We are finally showing some belly, which is exciting, because now hers is bigger than mine...almost. I actually went to the store last week to grab some ice cream, frappuccino's (for headaches), and pickles. What a combination!!! Our next Dr. visit is friday, and we expect to hear more good news. Dr. Parks seems to think that we are progressing normally, but it feels like it's flying by to us.

4-1-07 Week 6

Welcome to our Baby Elliott blog!! We will try to keep everyone up to date on the progression of our growing family!! So far everything is normal, and if it wasn't for the positive test results we wouldn't even know we were expecting! Hopefully this is an indication of things to come!!! We will update as soon as new developments occur with our little one!!
